Certainly, my intention was never to one day reminisce about obsolete recording devices for the liner notes of a 'Greatest Hits' record. No. it was 1994, and my demos were piling up in a basement studios from Virginia to Seattle. Experiments…

The DNA of what we now call Foo Fighthers is there in every one of those cassettes. 15 years and 6 studio albums later, I can trace the inspiration for a song like “Word Forward” back to some of the first recordings on that Tascam 688… Songs that give away to more songs. Songs that open doors to step through the next time around, that serve as a platform for future direction. Each one of those 6 albums practices that theory (while always knowing that each album could be our last). And, if it weren’t for that theory… We would not exist.

These 16 songs are what we’re calling our 'Greatest Hits.' Not to be confused with ‘Our Best Songs’ of ‘Our Favorite Songs,’ it is a collection of the songs that have defined our band’s identity to most people over the years… Depends on whom you ask. Personally, I don’t think we’ve written our greatest songs yet. But that door is always open.

As for the Tascam 688, I still use it. Every time. Looks a little beat up, but works like a charm. Turns out that salesman guy was right. I’ve made plenty records with that thing. And look forward to plenty more.”

Foo Figthers - Greatest Hits

Decidí comenzar con este disco aunque cronológicamente haya sido el último en salir (obvio). Simplemente, no me pude aguantar y a decir verdad, no fui para nada defraudada.

Antes que nada, un agradecimiento a Buda por habérmelo mandado. Rifó ese regalo y sobre todo la sorpresa. Muchas gracias! Te quiero!

El disco, cierto, regresemos. Me fascinó. Sin otra forma de decirlo. Duró en mi coche como dos semanas, si no es que más. Aunque me parece, era fácil lograrlo, se trata de un disco con sus principales sencillos. No iba a suckear. De todas maneras, tiene un punch y una fuerza impresionante; rola tras rola no deja de prender. Incluso esas cancioncitas nuevas están buenísimas, me encantaron. En gerneral, deja un buen sabor de boca y mucha expectativa para lo que venga. Qué esperemos venga pronto!


¿Cuál es el veredicto sobre este “Greatest Hits”? Fansese o No Fansese no debe faltarle a nadie que le guste el Rock. PUNTO!
